A Patient Centred Approach
Who you are, and how you got you there, matters. On your initial appointment I will take a thorough medical history, to provide me with an understanding of how your issue came to be. From here: we can work together to find the best path towards recovery.

Diagnostic Tests
Through palapation (touch) and a series of scientifically validated orthopaedic and physical tests, I will endeavour to determine the source of your pain or discomfort. I will then design a treatment based upon my findings. This will involve thinking close to the site of pain, as well as considering what is connected to it which might lead to it reoccuring if not addressed.

Treatment
Treatment is entirely individual to what is right for you and your body. No two treatments are ever exactly the same. It will typically incorporate stretching of the soft tissues (such as muscles), articulating (moving) the joints and removing any barriers to the flow of blood or other vital fluids.
As it is also important what you do outside the treatment room, my aim is to educate you in your own body, as well you providing exercises and tasks to take into the world.
Treatments can involve manipulation or ‘clicking’ of the joints with your informed consent, but only if I consider it to be both beneficial and necessary.

Confidentiality
First and foremost, when in the treatment room: you are entering a safe space. You can share both medical and personal information in the firm knowledge that it will not leave that room. All notes, consequently, are held under well regulated lock-and-key.
It is worth understanding that this is your time, so if you don’t like how the treatment is going - or would rather we took a different approach - your feedback is always welcome.
On consent: I want to reassure you that you are always the one in control. If for any reason you do not want something done to your body or are needing space, you can always just let me know. You needn’t even tell me the reason why.
You are in control and this is your time.
